    Meghan Yrigoyen

I graduated from Western Illinois University. I have taught first grade for twenty three years and am proud to say that the last twenty one have been at Southern Boone. I love the fact that each day is different and new...and there is NEVER enough time in the day to get it all done. The sweet, first grade smiles are the best part of my job.

    Erin Sappington

Hi!  I am originally from Independence, MO, and I am the oldest of 7 kids in my family.  I taught for 6 years in other districts before coming to Southern Boone in 2012.  I love living here, working here, and raising my children here! My teaching philosophy is simple:  I believe that every child can learn!  My job is to make learning fun, so that every child wants to learn!  I will work with you, your child, and the other learning specialists in our school to make sure your child gets the best school experience possible.

    Kristin Catron

Hello, Southern Boone!  My name is Kristin Catron, and I have been
teaching in the primary school since 2012.  I graduated from the
University of Missouri with my degree in Elementary Education and
earned my Master’s Degree through the MU Teaching Fellowship Program while here at Southern Boone the following year. My favorite part about teaching is getting to know each child and watching them grow throughout the year. Go Eagles!

Southern Boone Primary is a great place to be! I have been teaching first grade here since 2016-2017. Before teaching at Southern Boone, I taught 1st grade in Mexico, MO (where I am originally from) for 2 years. I graduated from William Woods University in 2013. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to love on kiddos all day long! They make every moment worth it.

    Sheila Bagley

Hello! My name is Sheila Bagley. I am originally from Ballwin,
Missouri. I graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, MO. I am
thrilled that this will be my second year teaching at Southern Boone!
Before moving to Southern Boone I worked on the Phonics Project in and
around Northern Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia for an NGO through
United States Peace Corps. I am grateful to have brought back a deep
connection to the phrase "it takes a village", and that Southern Boone
has the same mindset at it's heart! Go Eagles!

    Laura Akin

My name is Laura Akin. This is my sixteenth year of teaching at Southern Boone. I am originally from St. Louis. I moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri, met my husband there, and made it home. I began teaching at Southern Boone when my daughter was in second grade, and I fell in love with Ashland-the community, its people, and the schools. It is a joy to teach in a district that is so committed to education and to helping all students learn. I can't imagine a better place to teach!
