    Travis Lorance

Travis comes from a military family and was born on Ft. Lewis military base in Washington. He grew up around Bloomington/Normal, Illinois and worked full time at State Farm out of high school where he says he was literally Jake from state farm....and did wear khakis. He attended Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois.

Travis moved to Columbia in 2014 and attended the Law Enforcement Training Institute at Mizzou. He was hired on at the Boone County Sheriff's Department in January of 2015 and began his career working at the jail, later becoming a training officer and defensive tactics instructor for the Sheriff's department. After working at the jail for two years, Travis worked in patrol for another 2 years before becoming an SRO for Harrisburg School District last year.

Travis is very passionate about law enforcement and very passionate about being an SRO. It is very important to him to develop positive relationships with students and the community. He is very active and likes to be involved with the student body as much as possible even attending P.E. classes.

Travis currently lives in Columbia but is looking at houses in Ashland. He counts being a Dad as the most rewarding part of life. He and Kelly have busy schedules working full-time, kid's activities, two big dogs to take care of, and Kelly is currently in the Boone County Fire Academy. They are ALWAYS on the go.

Travis is a HUGE Chicago sports fan (Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls, and yes the Cubs!) and plays in a competitive basketball league at the MAC in Columbia.
He picked up playing soccer last October thanks to Kelly and loves indoor soccer.

Travis is really looking forward to getting to know the faculty and staff and is excited and proud to be a part of Southern Boone. Go EAGLES!
