Food Services Company Addresses Supply Chain Challenges

Opaa!, the company that provides food services for the Southern Boone School District, has issued the following statement in regards to the current supply chain circumstances.

As our community knows, the Southern Boone County R-1 School District partners with Opaa! Food Management for our food service programs. Opaa! is committed to serving quality, nutritious meals to students and staff.

Like many other school districts and businesses across the nation, the Southern Boone School District is experiencing supply chain issues and a lack of delivery drivers from our distributors. These issues are resulting in fewer entrée choices available for breakfast and lunch across our four buildings, and a lack of à la carte options for the middle and high school.

Until these issues are resolved with our distributers, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our registered dieticians and culinary team are working around the clock to develop menu substitutions as needed. Rest assured, breakfast and lunch WILL STILL be available to every student for free this year.

We STRONGLY encourage you to utilize the Nutrislice online menu or download the free mobile app for the most up-to-date menus. There is a link to the menus on the school's website at ashland.k12.mo.us.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our food service director, Faith Calvin at fcalvin@opaafood.com for any questions or concerns.
