Although 2020-2021 is my first year as a school counselor, I am not new to the Southern Boone School District. Prior to being a school counselor, I worked in the middle school as the At-Risk coordinator. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mizzou and I am currently pursuing my Educational Specialist from there as well. I chose to pursue school counseling as a career in order to help all students become more successful, provide effective coping skills, and inspire them to do their personal best in their lives. My role model is a collection of my 3 brothers because they demonstrate resilient, motivational, and persistent qualities that I hold highly.

I am so excited to be a part of Southern Boone Middle School. I was a middle school math teacher and decided to pursue a degree in School Counseling because I love helping my students learn new social and emotional skills. Watching students grow and discover who they are is one of my favorite parts about working with middle school students. Middle school is such an exciting time and I love that I get to be with students as they navigate through these years. My family and I love being outside, riding bikes, and rewatching old tv shows!
