Each year, Daniel Boone Regional Library sponsors a book cover contest for 1st-6th grade students, challenging them to design new covers for their favorite books. The elementary school had two winners this year. Congratulations to Kathryn Helming with a Bad Kitty and the Bad Birthday Party cover and Eben Eiler with a Dog Man cover.

4th grade students are selling lavender and mint bath salts, along with a luffa. They will be on sale during lunch on Thursday at the elementary school and are $5 each. This is a fundraiser for the Southern Boone Learning Garden.

Ameren Missouri recently gave a presentation to 4th grade students about natural gas safety. Thank you to Ameren for sharing some important safety tips with our students.


Ms. Engemann's 4th grade class was chosen in a drawing to make decorations for a Christmas tree in the central office boardroom. The students decorated the tree and listened to Interim Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth read the book, 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.

The primary and elementary schools are offering a new parenting workshop, "The Power of Positive Parenting" on Thursday, December 1st from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Primary Eagle Room. The workshop will be presented by Sandy Miller from FACE School Based Services.

Third grade students read the book, Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Street. Students then created their own balloon creations and had a parade throughout the elementary school.
