The Southern Boone School District is pleased to announce Ana Brooks as the new assistant principal of Southern Boone High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
Brooks has taught social studies at Southern Boone High School for the past six years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Southeast Missouri State University.
“I am incredibly honored to continue serving the amazing students, dedicated staff, and families of Southern Boone High School — a place I have proudly called home for the last six years,” Brooks said. “I am excited to take on this new role as assistant principal and to collaborate with Mrs. Sconce in serving and strengthening our school community. I am especially passionate about fostering a positive learning environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.”
Incoming high school principal Shelly Sconce said she looks forward to working with Brooks in the year ahead.
“Ana is a proven leader who is deeply committed to the success of our students and staff,” said incoming High School Principal Shelly Sconce. “Her dedication, classroom experience, and strong relationships within our school make her an excellent fit for this role. I am excited to partner with her as we work together to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.”
Brooks and her husband, Scott, enjoy spending time with their goldendoodle, Binnington. In her free time, she enjoys being with family and friends and cheering on the St. Louis Blues.
The Southern Boone Board of Education approved Brooks as a new high school assistant principal during a special board meeting on May 6, 2025.
