Dear Southern Boone School District Families,

The Southern Boone Activities Department is preparing for another exciting year of athletics and activities. Please review the important information below as we prepare for the fall season.

Fall Sports Parent Meeting: Due to the various construction projects at the high school, there will not be an in-person meeting. Information will be shared via email. 

First Practice Dates

  • High school fall athletics: Monday, August 10, 2026

  • Middle school fall sports: Monday, August 17, 2026

Students must participate in 14 practices on separate days before they are eligible to compete in a game or contest.

Physical and Pre-Participation Requirements
All students participating in sports/marching band/cheer during the upcoming school year must have the following documents on file on FINAL FORMS before participating in practices:

  • A completed physical dated within the past two years

  • A completed MSHSAA Pre-Participation Documentation form, which is required annually

Both forms must be uploaded to the student-athlete’s FinalForms profile.

FinalForms
The Southern Boone Activities Department is again partnering with FinalForms, an online forms and data-management service. FinalForms allows parents and students to complete and sign required athletic and activity participation forms online.

The platform saves information from season to season and year to year and pre-populates information whenever possible, saving families time. FinalForms is required for all middle and high school students participating in a school-sponsored sport or activity and their parents or guardians.

Student Physicals
Southern Boone High School will offer physicals for students in grades 7–12 (also 6th grade for the sports of cross country and wrestling) on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2025, from 4:00–6:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, August 4, 2025, from 4:00–6:30 p.m.

Physicals will be held at the middle school (Please enter main entry) and cost $20 per student. Checks should be made payable to Southern Boone Athletics. Physicals are valid for two calendar years from the date of the examination.

Rooms: Two-Way Communication Platform
Southern Boone uses Rooms for students and parents to communicate with teachers, coaches, and activity and club sponsors. Available through the Southern Boone app, Rooms provides one convenient place for direct messages, announcements, reminders, schedules, and other important updates. Parents and students are encouraged to download the Southern Boone app, activate their Rooms accounts, and turn on notifications to ensure they receive timely information. Activity Fee
A $50 Southern Boone activity fee is required for each student participating in activities during the upcoming school year. Payment may be made online through FinalForms. Families may also submit a check payable to Southern Boone Athletics to the student’s head coach or the Central Office.
