
Coach Karr spent the night on the top of the primary school to help raise money for the school's APEX fundraiser. Students and parents can drop off a donation this morning. Donations will go to APEX and help purchase new playground equipment and classroom materials.




Students in Mrs. Hammann's kindergarten class enjoyed a super exciting baby chick week! They incubated eggs for a week and then, on Thursday, the eggs began hatching. The class was very excited to see the baby chicks.





Tuesday was the 100th day of school! As an annual tradition at the primary school, 1st grade students dressed up as 100 years old to celebrate the milestone. Students also enjoyed fun activities and delicious snacks throughout the day.











Mrs. Ortbals' afternoon preschool class had a baby kangaroo named Nugget visit them to help kick off their animal theme and a new story, Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too? by Eric Carle. Mrs. Clark even stopped by to hold the cute joey!

The Primary will be participating in Court Warming Spirit Days this week! More information can be found in our current newsletter that was sent last week.


Kindergarten registration is now open and preschool applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 school year.

Congratulations to Mrs. Zepp's 2nd grade class for winning the Primary School Door Decorating Contest with the Christmas tree and stockings. Second place goes to Ms. Holt's classroom for originality with the Hawaiian-themed door.



The primary school had its Annual Holiday Sing Along this morning with all kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes. Also, a very special guest makes an appearance towards the end of the video.

The Southern Boone High School Beta Club recently hosted a Grinch Party at the primary school. They also worked on their service project of making blankets. Students in Mrs. Hammann's kindergarten class have been learning about the Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed their version of a Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday.



Opaa! Food Management is hosting Breakfast with a Champion this Friday morning at the primary, elementary and middle school cafeterias. Students will be able to enjoy a healthy breakfast with Southern Boone Football players on game day!

Mrs. Hammann's kindergarten class enjoyed their field trip on Monday to Lloyd's Family Farm in Ashland.



Students in Mrs. Himmelberg's kindergarten class enjoyed having Assistant Superintendent Christy Jones read to them the book, How to Catch a Unicorn.

Teachers and staff in all of our schools continue to prepare for the upcoming school year. Staff at the primary school are participating in PBS Boot Camp this morning. They are going through different rotations and learning all about Positive Behavior Support.
