New Board Member

The Southern Boone Board of Education has announced the appointment of Heather Brown to fill the school board vacancy left by the passing of former board member Crystal Branch. She will serve the remainder of the three-year term concluding in April 2025. Out of nine applicants, Brown was approved by the Board of Education to fill the vacant board position during a special board meeting on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024.

"I extend my sincere appreciation to the nine individuals who submitted applications to be considered for the school board vacancy,” said School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth. “Those individuals’ interest in serving our school district reflects the strength of our community and the importance of collaborative leadership in education."

Heather Brown will join Jeremy Galloway and April Georgetti, who were selected as new board members during the April 2nd election. Brown, Galloway, and Georgetti will be formally sworn into office during the monthly school board meeting scheduled for Monday, April 15th, in the central office boardroom.

“We extend a warm welcome to Heather Brown as she joins Jeremy Galloway and April Georgetti in serving on the Southern Boone Board of Education," said Dr. Roth. "These three individuals’ dedication to our community and commitment to our school district will undoubtedly enrich our school board as we continue to focus on doing what is best for our students.”

The Southern Boone Board of Education met during a special meeting on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 to review applications and voted to conduct interviews with the board’s top two applicants during a special meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
