Eagle Foundation Awards

The Southern Boone Eagle Foundation recognized four outstanding individuals during the Southern Boone Golden Eagles Club Spring Dinner and Program on Wednesday, April 23.

The annual event celebrated contributions from alumni, educators, staff and community members who have made a lasting impact on the Southern Boone School District.

Lonna Trammell received the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award, honoring her as a graduate of Southern Boone High School who has demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributions to society. Trammell exemplifies the character, citizenship and leadership that inspire today’s students.

Crystal Branch was named the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Educator Award for her significant and lasting impact as a Southern Boone educator. Branch’s commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and coaching continues to shape the lives of students and the broader community.

Matt Klemme, a valued staff member, earned the 2025 Eagle Elite Award, which recognizes current school district employees who go above and beyond to create the best educational experiences for students. Klemme’s dedication and positive influence have been felt across the district.

The 2025 Friend of Education Award was presented to Nancy Nickolaus for her work with the Southern Boone Buddy Pack Program, recognizing her unwavering commitment to supporting students and families in need throughout the community. The award honors individuals and organizations whose leadership and service help create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for all.

“These awards highlight the exceptional people who strengthen our district every day,” said Dr. Tim Roth, Southern Boone School District superintendent. “Each honoree represents the spirit of service, leadership and dedication that defines our community.”

Roth added, “It’s important that we take the time to celebrate those who make a difference. Their impact reaches far beyond our classrooms and school walls.”

A special thank you to the Southern Boone Middle School eighth grade choir for providing entertainment during the program, the Southern Boone High School Student Council members for warmly welcoming guests, and Opaa! Food Management for preparing and serving a delicious dinner. Their contributions helped make the evening a memorable celebration of community, service and excellence in education.
