Dear Southern Boone School District Families,
The Southern Boone Board of Education is continuing to explore the advantages and disadvantages of transitioning to a four-day school week for the 2026–2027 school year. As part of this ongoing process, the Board will host a Community Forum to provide parents, staff, students and community members the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from the Board and Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth.
Four-Day School Week Community Forum
Date: Tuesday, November 18th, 2025
Time: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Location: Southern Boone High School Auditorium
The forum will be facilitated by a representative from the Missouri School Boards’ Association. The session will begin with a brief overview of the topic, followed by a moderated Question & Answer discussion. Upon arrival, attendees will be invited to write down their questions. The facilitator will share these with the Board during the forum. While time may not allow for every question to be answered live, all submitted questions will be provided to the Board for review.
The purpose of this forum is to support an informed, transparent, and community-centered decision-making process. Your feedback and perspectives are important as we work together to consider how this potential change could impact students, families, staff, and our school community.
Please note, no decision has been made at this time. While the district is continuing to gather information, the Board of Education is set to make a decision during the regular monthly meeting on December 15, 2025.
Additional resources—including Frequently Asked Questions, a sample four-day calendar, survey information, comparisons from neighboring districts, and the planning timeline—are available on our website:

Thank you for your continued engagement and partnership as we explore this important topic.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Tim Roth
School Superintendent
