The Southern Boone School District invites the community to celebrate the completion of the new Agriculture and Innovation Wing at Southern Boone High School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
The celebration will begin at 5:45 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the entrance to the new wing in partnership with the Southern Boone County Chamber of Commerce.
A complimentary dinner and short district program, sponsored by First State Community Bank, will follow at 6 p.m. in the Southern Boone High School Commons. Following the program, the new Agriculture and Innovation Wing will be open for community members to tour the facility and see the new learning spaces available to Southern Boone students.
The new wing includes two agriculture classrooms, a dedicated agriculture laboratory, a large shop area, two art classrooms and a Family and Consumer Sciences classroom. The new spaces are designed to expand opportunities for hands-on learning, career exploration, collaboration and creativity.
The Agriculture and Innovation Wing was funded through the district’s $11.6 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue approved by Southern Boone voters in April 2024. The bond issue also funded other improvements at the high school, including roof work and parking improvements.
The October 27th celebration will be held in conjunction with the district’s Fall Southern Boone Golden Eagles Club Dinner and Program. The Golden Eagles Club is a district initiative for community members ages 50 and older, as well as local business leaders, providing opportunities to stay informed, connected and engaged with Southern Boone schools.
The ribbon-cutting, dinner, program and open house are free and open to the community. Dinner will include chicken spaghetti, green beans, garlic bread, salad and cake.
