The Ashland Police Department will be participating in active shooter training at the Southern Boone Primary School on Thursday, July 21st, from 6-8PM. We want the community to be aware there will be emergency vehicles and police officers at the school during the training and that there is no emergency at the school.
The Southern Boone School District is hiring for several positions for the 2022-2023 school year. Anyone that is interested and qualified can learn more and apply online at sbschools.us/employment.

Earlier this month, the Southern Boone School District earned state recognition with the Dr. Mary Richter Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support District of Distinction Award for 2022. One award is given out each year to a district in Missouri that demonstrates a firm commitment and dedication to improving the lives of students, the educators who teach them, and the community through innovation, creativity and a firm commitment to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBiS). Southern Boone is an exemplar for other districts by providing a multi-tiered system of support for students and teachers to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all.
The primary school's Stop the Summer Slide reading program starts this evening!

REMINDER: Friday, May 27th is the last day of school. Early dismissal will be at 12:30PM.
The primary school is celebrating the last full day of school with a field day that includes students participating in fun indoor and outdoor activities.
Central office staff enjoyed a "Lunch and Learn" today at the Southern Boone Learning Garden. The staff learned about all the different types of vegetables that have been planted and enjoyed a fresh salad with ingredients straight from the garden.
The primary school held a Reading Mentors Celebration this morning to recognize and show appreciation to the volunteers that came to the school to read with students. There were 20 reading mentors that participated and 41 students that benefited from the reading mentor program.
