Students in Mrs. Kennedy's 7th grade social studies classes are on the case! Earlier this week, they put on their detective caps to analyze a cold case file over the disappearance of the Roanoke Colony in Roanoke, Virginia in 1590.



Last week, students from Mrs. Stegemann's high school business tech class attended the Missouri Highway Patrol Career Fair. They learned about the different departments and areas of the highway patrol.




3rd grade students have been learning about weather and had a special guest visit them last week. Meteorologist Maddie Est taught students about clouds and the difference between weather and climate.

The Southern Boone YMCA and Southern Boone Middle School held a Community Clean Up Day this morning. Thank you to everyone that came out to help!


Southern Boone High School held its annual Veterans Day Assembly this afternoon. The event include music from the high school band and choir, guest speaker Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 4 Andrew Ottinger, recognition of veterans and more.

Mrs. Costanza's 7th grade life science class used microscopes on Thursday to look at large intestine tissue.



Students in Mrs. Batye’s 5th grade English Language Arts class read the book, America’s White Table. Students learned what each item represents and why it’s important on Veterans Day.

We held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Southern Boone Chamber of Commerce this evening for the completed expansion and renovation construction project at Southern Boone Middle School. The school district also hosted a community open house for the public to tour the middle school.
This project was made possible by voters in the Southern Boone School District who approved the $7.7 million bond issue in April 2021 for the middle school construction project. The project connected the two existing buildings with the new addition, which consists of a new main office, science labs, library and vocational area. The project also included converting the current office and library into additional classrooms, and other much-needed improvements throughout the entire middle school.
