SNOW DAY: Due to the winter weather in the forecast, the Southern Boone School District will NOT be in session on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024.

UPDATE: Due to the weather, all afternoon and evening school-related practices and events are canceled for this evening. All Southern Boone facilities will also be closed.

With winter weather in the forecast for this week, be the first to know when school is canceled by downloading our district app and turning on "Push Notifications" from the Southern Boone School District under "Settings." Southern Boone Parents as Teachers next monthly group event will be at the Southern Boone YMCA at 5:30PM on Tuesday, January 23rd. The YMCA will be providing some gross motor activities in their Turf Room. Just a reminder all families living in Southern Boone School District with children under the age of 5 (not yet in kindergarten) are welcome to attend! Older siblings are also welcome. With the possibility of winter weather in the forecast for early next week, here are a few reminders on how we will share important information. If you are a parent or guardian of a student in the school district, you will receive an automated phone call, text message and email informing you of any weather-related school closing information. Please check to make sure your contact information is correct in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The school district will also have an alert message at the top of the district's website at sbschools.us, send out a push notification through the Southern Boone School District App (free for anyone to download in the Apple and Google Play stores), post on the district's social media pages and share the information with the local radio and T.V. stations. Teachers are busy today during their professional development day. They have been attending meetings and training, along with collaborating with colleagues and working in their classrooms. We hope our students had a great break and we can't wait to welcome them back on Thursday!

Congratulations to Mrs. Zepp's 2nd grade class for winning the Primary School Door Decorating Contest with the Christmas tree and stockings. Second place goes to Ms. Holt's classroom for originality with the Hawaiian-themed door.

Middle school students from the Junior Beta Club visited the primary school earlier this week to read with kindergarten students.

High school students in Mr. Meyers' Project Lead The Way class gave their Shark Tank presentations today. Their presentations included innovation, creativity and passion as these future entrepreneurs pitched their incredible ideas to our esteemed judges to consider.
