
The Southern Boone School District is preparing to review its Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP). A CSIP is a three to five year strategic plan for a school district. A climate and culture survey is part of the CSIP review process.

QUESTION NO. 2: 20 Cent Levy Transfer
Question No. 2 in the April 2nd election is a 20 cent levy transfer to help support teachers and staff in the district. The question seeks authorization from voters to make adjustments to the district’s debt services and operating property tax levies. This adjustment will not raise the district's current tax rate. The proposal is a levy transfer of 20 cents from the debt services fund to the operating fund. This transfer aims to help the district's ability to attract and retain high-quality educators by increasing salaries for teachers and staff.

Question No. 1 in the April 2nd, 2024 election is an $11.6 million no tax rate increase bond issue that would be used to help fund a high school expansion construction project. The project would include a new vocational and agriculture department wing, along with additional classrooms, parking lot improvements and needed roof repairs at the high school.

Registration is underway for 2024 Summer School for students that will be in Kindergarten-8th grade during the 2024-2025 school year. Summer school will take place June 3rd-27th. The Southern Boone County R-I School District is pleased to announce Jacob Watson as the next assistant superintendent for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Watson is currently the principal at Oak Ridge Intermediate School in the Camdenton School District. He will officially begin his role as assistant superintendent for our school district on July 1st, 2024.

The Southern Boone School District held a Community Breakfast and Program for the newly formed Southern Boone Golden Eagles Club in the high school commons this morning. This new initiative is designed for individuals ages 50 and older and local business leaders in the community. The primary objective of this club is to provide a platform for members to stay informed about the exciting developments and achievements within the school district. During Monday night's school board meeting, the Southern Boone Football team was recognized for hosting a Pink Out Game last fall and raising $1,386 that will be donated to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center for traveling mammogram services.
