A group of central office staff members dressed up as School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth for Halloween.


Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is having a walk-in flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, November 2nd from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Southern Boone Primary School Cafeteria. This clinic will be walk-in based and no appointments are needed.

Mrs. Batye’s 5th grade English language arts class is learning about figurative language. Students listened to songs and identified similes, metaphors, and onomatopoeia in the music. Students then applied those skills by writing figurative language about a pumpkin they created.






Thanks to Rod Smith with KRCG-TV for spotlighting our soccer team during the 5PM newscast and the football team, cheerleaders, volleyball team and marching band during the 6PM newscast.





Our students and staff had a lot of fun dressing up in their costumes and enjoyed their fall parties this afternoon.











Due to MSHSAA’s rules, admission to tonight’s home district football game and Saturday’s home district soccer game is $6 per person ages 7 and older (which includes all students). Tickets will be sold at the gate and only cash will be accepted. No passes will be honored.


Students enjoyed eating breakfast with the Southern Boone Football team during Breakfast with a Champion this morning at the primary, elementary and middle school. Thanks to the football players for coming to the schools and good luck tonight! Go Eagles!





REMINDER: Opaa! Food Management is hosting Breakfast with a Champion this Friday morning at the primary, elementary and middle school cafeterias. Students will be able to enjoy a healthy breakfast with Southern Boone Football players on game day!

Southern Boone School District is the recipient of a $200,000 grant to make school safety upgrades throughout the district. The funds are from the State of Missouri’s new school safety grant program.

Some of the 3rd and 4th grade students at the elementary school participated in the annual pumpkin decorating contest. The pumpkins had to be based on their favorite book character. As you can see, the elementary school has some amazingly talented students!
