The Southern Boone County R-1 Public School District invites qualified persons interested in running for a position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 4, 2023 election. Due to winter weather in the forecast, Central Office will be closed on Thursday, December 22, 2022. The school district office will be closed all day on Friday, December 23, 2022 and Monday, December 26, 2022 in observance of the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holidays. A special guest was at the primary school today. The Grinch visited with students during the first grade classes Grinch Day.

Last week, the middle school held an assembly and had an Eagle Bill Giveaway. Students were entered into a drawing for a Taco Bell gift card. Students entered the giveaway with Eagle Bills that they earned by being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible while at school.

Mrs. Hammann's and Mrs. Himmelberg's classes were two of the five kindergarten classes that visited Bluegrass Terrace assisted living facility in Ashland on Thursday to sing Christmas songs to the residents. The other four classes will visit the facility to sing in the spring.

For staff at the primary school, today is dress in a holiday theme group day. The office staff dressed up at presents.

The school district's Holiday Staff Luncheons are underway! We started in the elementary school today and will be providing lunch to all staff in the remaining school buildings on a different day next week.
