Congratulations to Faith Calvin, Opaa! Director of Nutrition Services at Southern Boone School District, for receiving 3rd place with her Philly Mac & Cheese in Opaa's company-wide recipe contest in Oklahoma. 300 schools in 7 states participated in the contest.

Before leaving this afternoon, a group of school buses participated in a main door bus evacuation drill in the primary/elementary bus loop. This is good practice for the students and the bus drivers. The rest of the buses will take part in the drill on Wednesday afternoon.

REMINDER: Friday, April 22nd is the last day for parents to register their child(ren) for summer school. Our summer school program is for students that will be in Kindergarten-8th grade next school year and will be held July 5th-July 28th. Today is Ms. Susan's last day as the daytime custodian at the elementary school. The students and staff will miss her! Thank you for everything you have done for the students, staff and the school.

Earlier this week, MU nursing students gave a presentation about living a healthy life to 2nd grade students at the primary school. Students participated in a handwashing activity, learned about stress management, hygiene, nutrition, managing tummy aches and headaches and received some tips about summer safety.

8th grade students went to the high school this morning for their High School Enrollment Orientation. Current juniors led tour groups, helped them fill out their ICAP, and answered questions. The high school counselors will visit the middle school next week to finalize their enrollment for next school year.

Construction continues on the middle school expansion and renovation project. Crew are currently working on the following projects:
