Ms. Engemann's 4th grade class participated in World Reading Day today. They were able to hear a read aloud from the author of Smile, So Big. The students had fun interacting with the author and hearing from her personally.




The middle school used its intervention time during the 1st semester to focus on reading skills. On Tuesday, students participated in an assembly to celebrate their growth. Many students were recognized for their efforts to be better readers.

The City of Ashland, Missouri and City of Ashland, Missouri Parks & Rec are hosting their first public workshop for the 2023 Parks and Recreation Master Planning Process on Friday, February 10th from 4-6PM at Ashland City Hall.
The Ashland Park and Rec Board is working with Drury University's Center for Community Studies to conduct the first master planning process for the city's park and recreation facilities. All are welcome to attend, including children.

The Southern Boone Scholar Bowl team hosted the Tri-County Conference Tournament on Thursday evening. Southern Boone went 3-0 in preliminary play, and then defeated Eldon in the semi-finals to advance to the final match, where they lost to a strong Hallsville team.


The primary school is always accepting donations of used children's books for its Book Swap Program. You can drop off the books at the primary school office.


Kindergarten teachers had a training about Bear Through the Seasons curriculum from the Missouri Department of Conservation during professional learning community time Wednesday afternoon. The curriculum provides 23 lessons and four seasonal units for an entire school year of learning.
