In Mrs. Dooley's 5th grade science class, students have been learning about all the Earth systems. Students got to see how clouds condense and then precipitate once the water drops get too heavy. They enjoyed the shaving cream rain cloud experiment.

Congratulations to these middle school students for being selected for the Northeast Missouri Music Educators Association Junior High District Band. They rehearsed all day on Saturday at Moberly High School and performed a concert with the band on Saturday evening.

Congratulations to Mason Ahern and Emilee DeHaas for being crowned 2023 Courtwarming King and Queen.
It is Courtwarming tonight as Southern Boone Boys and Girls Basketball teams face Boonville. The girls game starts at 6PM, the boys will play at around 7:30PM and the Courtwarming ceremony will take place after both basketball games.
The high school held its Courtwarming assembly this afternoon. The assembly included performances by the high school band, cheerleaders, choir and theater. The Courtwarming royalty, winter sports teams, clubs and groups were also recognized.
The school district's CSIP Committee held its final two meetings this week to continue working on updating the Continuous School Improvement Plan for the district. The committee is made up of board members, administrators, teachers, staff, parents, high school students and community members. We thank all of them for their time and input during the meetings. The CSIP is a long-range plan for the school district that is to serve as a "road map" for improvements on a variety of topics over the next 3-5 years.
The middle school is starting a Book Swap program! Donations can be dropped off at the middle school or high school.
The middle school had a pep assmebly today to celebrate Courtwarming! It included performances by the high school band and cheerleaders, recognition of winter sports, clubs and groups, along with basketball games between students and teachers.
Parents, students and/or alumni are invited to give a shout out to a teacher or staff member that has had a huge impact on their life or their student's life.

Today was the 100th day of school! As an annual tradition at the primary school, 1st grade students dressed up as 100 years old to celebrate the milestone.
Southern Boone Winter Guard performed their show, “You said Forever” last weekend at WGI Regionals in Blue Springs. They will be performing during the Courtwarming basketball games this Friday night and on Saturday at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles.

Southern Boone High School Courtwarming is this Friday night! The ceremony will be at the conclusion of the basketball games. Senior Royalty includes Emilee DeHaas, Ma'Jayla Dudley, Kyra Massie, Adalynn Carter, Aidan Bukowsky, Alex Criswell, Teller Mange and Mason Ahern.
The Southern Boone Board of Education approved the district calendar for the 2023-2024 school year during the board’s monthly meeting on Monday, February 13th, 2023.
