Thank you to all the Eagles fans who came out to tonight's Courtwarming games. The energy was amazing!

The middle school had a pep assembly on Thursday afternoon to celebrate Courtwarming and included basketball games between students and teachers.

REMINDER: This year's Courtwarming Coronation will be changed to accommodate our court members who are participating in district wrestling this evening The court and courtwarming competition winners will still be announced tonight at the conclusion of the games as is tradition, but we will hold a second coronation with the crowning of king and queen during the Courtwarming dance on Saturday, February 10th, at 8:30PM. Parents and other adults are welcome to come to coronation on Saturday in the gym. The Courtwarming dance is still from 7:00-10:00 pm on February 10th.

This year for courtwarming, all high school grade levels are participating in a fundraiser to raise money for charity. All grades have chosen to help the family of Sadie Robinett. Thank you all for helping with your donations. The fundraiser ends today and the total money raised and winners will be announced after the basketball game on Friday night. It's Courtwarming tonight as Southern Boone Boys and Girls Basketball teams take on Hallsville. Go Eagles!

Southern Boone High School Theater Department presents Footloose The Musical on February 15-17th at 7PM each evening and on Sunday, February 18th at 2PM. General admission is $10 per person, seniors are $9 and children 12 and under are $8.

The Southern Boone Winter Guard performed at their first competition last Saturday and finished in 5th place in round 3 of the Scholastic Regional A Class. The Winter Guard's next competition will be on March 2nd in Edwardsville.

This week is National School Counseling Week. It highlights the essential contribution of school counselors and the impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Thank you to our amazing counselors for everything they do for our students!

Thanks to the 3rd and 4th grade students and their families for attending last week's Cold Winter's Night literacy event at the elementary school!

The annual Courtwarming Dodgeball Tournament is Thursday, February 8th at 7:30PM in the HS Gym. $2 entry, popcorn, soda, and candy concessions. Middle school teams start at 7:30 with the HS bracket to follow. Come watch the most exciting dodgeball tournament you'll see this year!

REMINDER: The elementary school's Cold Winter's Night is this evening from 6-7PM for 3rd and 4th grade students and their families. The night includes visiting the classroom to view their child's ELA project, get a free book from Scholastic, participate in fun activities around the school (poem scavenger hunt, create a glow-in-the-dark bookmark, photo booth station, raffle basket drawing) and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.

HERO Week continues all this week at the primary school!

The 2024 Southern Boone Classic is this week!

Thank you to Callaway Bank for the $500 donation to Southern Boone Elementary School's Book Swap Program. The donation will be used to purchase new books for the program. The goal of Book Swap is to inspire a love of reading by providing 3rd and 4th grade students access to different books. Once a month, students can choose a book that is new to them to take home. Students can also earn coupons to take home additional books from the Book Swap. They can do this by bringing books from home to "swap" out for a book that is new to them and by completing their reading log for each week.
