MOCK VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT HIGH SCHOOL THIS AFTERNOON
Beginning at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, there will be a mock vehicle accident in front of the high school commons parking lot. Multiple emergency vehicles, first responders and simulated patients will be part of the event. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Good luck to the Southern Boone High School Marching Band as they compete today in a marching competition in Wright City.

Ashland FFA is having its annual FFA Barnyard today for students in the Primary and Elementary School.




The Southern Boone School District is hiring a crossing guard for in front of the Primary School, at the intersection of Liberty Lane and Henry Clay Boulevard from 7:35AM to 8:10AM each weekday morning. Learn more and apply online at sbschools.us/employment.

Thank you to the Jefferson City Central Labor Council for the generous donation to the primary school. These funds will help purchase school supplies for our students and teachers.

Southern Boone Homecoming festivities are next week!

Congratulations to senior Elizabeth Hess for being named as one of 16,000 Semifinalists in the country in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. She is competing for one of over 7,000 scholarships that total $28 million that will be offered next spring. The program honors students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Today is National IT Professionals Day! We appreciate Shyla Barnett and Trevor Smithee for everything they do! They keep our students, staff and school buildings connected and all of our technology running smoothly. Thank you for making IT happen!

4th grade WINGS students were challenged to "Save Fred" by using creative thinking, grit, and teamwork. Fred was a gummy worm who went boating, but didn't wear his gummy life preserver. The boat capsized with him on top of the boat and the LIFESAVER under it. Students had to get the LIFESAVER on Fred without dropping him in the water, and could only touch him by using paperclips.



As we begin the new school year, we want to introduce our newest staff members. Please help us welcome Bethany Herriman. Bethany is a math and social studies teacher at the middle school. Welcome to the Southern Boone Family!

High school students Elizabeth Heckemeyer and Brooke Bryant participated in All-District Choir Auditions today at Hannibal High School. Results will be announced next week.

Primary and elementary school students and their families attended Family Counseling Night on Thursday evening. Families got to meet the school counselors from both buildings and do different tasks together as a family.




If you don't feel like cooking tonight, be sure to stop by the agriculture building from 5-7PM this evening and grab a Burger and Fry Meal! Dinners are $10 each. All proceeds go back to our FFA members through SAE grants, FFA camps and scholarships.
